IN THE AUDIENCE – MISS USA 2009
With
a superb effort unfortunately our Miss Florida USA 2009 Anastagia Pierre did
not here her name called during the top-15 announcement. But being the
professional that she is it didn’t get in her way from an outstanding
performance during the opening dance number and the swimsuit and evening gown
reviews. After the end of the telecast it was great to see all of the support
for this outstanding woman from those in attendance at the event and from text
messages and emails. Other opportunities await our Ms. Pierre as we now return
home and begin work on her co-hosting this years live telecast in July.
Ms. Pierre was in caught up with her friends at the exclusive Coronation Ball following the telecast poolside at Planet Hollywood. It was a great way to see all of her fellow delegates who congratulated her on a job well done! It was also great to see such a turnout by the Sunshine State as several of our directors and titleholders took the long trip to Las Vegas to be in attendance and support our Ms. Pierre Sunday night. Before the long trip back to Florida we thought we would share the fun with our “In The Audience” report.
DRESS REHEARSAL:
The day began bright and early as a 10:00am Dress Rehearsal awaited our 51
delegates in anticipation of the 4:00pm local start. The over 300 attendees
included several of our Miss Florida USA Family. Even though it was only
practice we rooted on Ms. Pierre with a very vocal effort. After the
“faux” crowning took place both her mother and myself offered final
encouraging words then headed back to prepare for the afternoons big show.

PRESHOW:
Fast forward to 2:30pm and the entrance outside of The Planet Hollywood Theater was packed with supporters from the fifty states and District of Colombia. Amongst the well wishers included our Gainesville USA Director Chelsee Atkins and her husband Brian who took the redeye to Vegas after hosting a Saturday afternoon preliminary pageant. Signs and friends abounded as all were very excited to see our states pride compete for the title.
