Miss Naples USA &  Miss Naples Teen USA May 26, 2007     Several Miss Naples USA delegates await the microphone   The Road to Hollywood concluded it’s 2008 Tour of Florida with the forth Miss Naples USA Pageant. For the first year under the direction of Sandra Silva and her Eyes Wide Open Production Team it was quite the Saturday afternoon of pageantry as the last invite to state was at stake. The Naples Elks Lodge hosted ten Miss Naples USA and seven Miss Naples Teen USA delegates. The event was standing room only and excitement was in the air as we returned to Collier County after a two-year absence.       The Miss Naples Teen USA delegates during the opening introductions     Hosted by Naples Fox 4 News Anchor Patrick Nolan and Miss Gainesville USA Nikki Rhodes the delegates hit the stage in their opening of pink top and white skirts for the Miss Teen USA contestants with blue tops and white skirts for the Miss USA contestants. Each delegate presented themselves then answered the thesis of “Beauty Pageants – only for the brave of heart.” Each then was scored on their answers.       Mr. Nolan interviewed the delegates onstage         This years judging panel included: Paul Arrubia DiGrigoli, health educator consultant; popular Naples morning DJ Bruce “The Moose”; Suzi Hosfeld, model agency owner and former Miss Wisconsin USA; Martin Ycaza, morning host of D’Latinos Al Dia; Brenda Hawkins, copy editor and reporter for The Collier Citizen; Fernando Zapata, editor of Faceta Tropical and international model Petra Pezeshkan.   After the judges were introduced it was onto the traditional pageantry competitions of swimsuits and evening gowns. The swimwear was one-piece of the delegates choosing. The evening gown segment concluded with a little question and answer session with Mr. Nolan who proved to have quite the sense of humor. This was one very fun interview session that had the audience very entertained.          Ariana Da Frota (red), Courtney McKenzie (pink) and Miss Misener (black) in swimsuits of their own choosing.     After a brief presentation of appreciation to Mr. Nolan it was time to get down to the business of the Day. Up first was the announcement of the Miss Amity Award as the photographers chose Emily Provenza (NTUSA) and Kelly Sullivan (NUSA) who have now qualified to state.      Qualifiers from Naples to state       The first order of business was to announce the results for Miss Naples Teen USA. The field was first narrowed down to the top three finalists. Those selected were Aubrey Carr; Sabrina Esposito and Samantha Misener.      Then it was time for the envelope: The 2nd runner up is Sabrina Esposito The 1st runner up is Audrey Carr Miss Naples Teen USA 2008 is Samantha Misener   Then the final entry into state was still alive for Katie Franey, Heather Anderson and Meg Perkins as the results for Miss Naples USA were announced.  Then the final judges decision of 2008 was about to be called.         Miss Misener is the new Miss Naples Teen USA         The 2nd runner up is Katie Franey The 1st runner up is Heather Anderson The new Miss Naples Teen USA 2008 is Meg Perkins       Ms. Perkins completes the team!       What a great pageant and wonderful conclusion to this record breaking season. Big props to Ms. Silva and her team of volunteers and staff as they put together a very professional and well run event in five weeks! It has been one great season and we would like to thank the directors; delegates; volunteers; parents; fans and all of our Miss Florida USA Family who take that extra step to make what we are doing in Florida extra special.
