Miss Miami Gardens USA &  Miss Miami Gardens Teen USA April 5, 2008   The first stop on The Road to Hollywood this weekend saw us in Northwest Miami Dade for the first ever Miss Miami Gardens USA & Teen USA Pageants. Held at The Hennesy Performing Arts Center on the campus of Pace High School the five Miss USA and four Miss Teen USA contestants took the stage to an enthusiastic audience. Hosted by Team Gold Coast USA 2009 Team of Victoria Sanjurjo and Riley Nowell with assistance by Miss Kendall USA 2009 Kourtney Gallego the pageant had a great energy as we ventured into new pageant territory.       Miss Nowell hosted the onstage introductions       Ms. Aguilar during the judging competition       The competition started with a panel style personal interview competition as the judges had five minutes with each contestant to get to know them. Then it was time to hit the stage as self introductions by the delegates allowed the audience and judges could to gain insight before the two competitions began. First up were swimsuits as the delegates hit the stage in one or two piece suits of their own choosing. Then it was the audience’s favorite as fashion was on display in the Evening Gown competition.       Ms Curry is interviewed onstage by Ms. Gallego while Miss Nowell watches on         Miss Savinon (green), Ms. Dunning (blue) and Miss Wills (pink) in evening gowns of their own choosing         Ms. Orange is center stage while Whitney Dunning  awaits her turn during the swimwear competition       Then the audience was in store for one last competition as Ms. Gallego went center stage for one last interview phase. After a rousing dance performance by Ms. Gallego it was time to bring all the delegates onstage for the final announcement.       The Teen USA delegates await the decision.         First up was the Miss Miami Gardens Teen USA Results; Miss Amity is Devora Wills Miss Photogenic is Devetra Flarey The 1st Runner Up is Devora Wills The new Miss Miami Gardens Teen USA is Karlee Janigan!     Miss Janigan’s winning moment     The Miss Miami Gardens USA Results completed the show and they were: Miss Amity was Lourvenante Orange Miss Photogenic was Melissa Utvich The 1st Runner Up is Leticia Curry The new Miss Miami Gardens USA 2009 is Damaris Aguilar!       The Miss Miami Gardens USA Team with Judges       Congratulations to both Miss Janigan and Ms. Aguilar as they both have won a ticket to Hollywood and the state championships! A big hand also goes to Mrs. Williams and her outstanding group of volunteers who made this a memorable evening.
