Miss Sunset Place USA &  Miss Sunset Place Teen USA February 9, 2008   The Road to Hollywood ventured this Saturday to South Miami for the third annual Miss Sunset Place USA and Teen USA 2009 Pageants. This year the Super Pageant status was assigned to the event as the eight Miss Teen USA and thirteen Miss USA competed for four titles in each division. This outdoor event at The Shops at Sunset Place got off to a delayed start due to rain but once the show got going it was pageantry of the highest degree.       Ms. Saks interviews Karlee Janigan during the competition (left) Miss Guillermo during the contestant introductions (right)     The show started with Miss Sunset Place USA 2008 Kimberly Anderson and Miss Sunset Place Teen USA 2008 Catalina Arango greeting the overflow audience. Then it was time to meet the delegates as they were presented in white cocktail dresses for the teens and red cocktail dresses for the USA contestants.   Up next were onstage interviews by Miss South Miami USA 2008 Kelly Sax as both divisions answered blind draw questions for the judges and audience. Then it was the traditional competitions of one or two piece swimsuits of the delegates choosing as that competition was hosted by Miss Kendall USA 2008 Stephanie Jimenez. Then the evening gown competition was hosted by Miss Doral USA 2008 Nathaly Rosenberg.       Ms. Hastey with the Sunset Place Teen USA finalists       This years judging panel was then introduced, this years group included Carmen Rossi – Merlino, Owner of Envision Marketing & Public Relations; Paula McConnell, General Manager of (The) Make Up Store at The Shops at Sunset Place; Rosa De La O, former Miss Florida USA and Marketing Director of DMML Attorneys at Law; Rob Ludicke, President of Land Science, Inc; and Alein Cadalso, General Manager of The Shops at Sunset Place.        Ms. Fancisco (black), Miss Valencia (green) and Miss Altuve (blue) in the Evening Gown Competition.       The Sunset Place USA Swimsuit Competition       Ms. Wills (White),  Ms. Castillo (orange) and Miss Pedraja (blue) in the Swimsuit Competition       After a brief intermission the hosting duties were handled by Miss Florida Teen USA 2007 Annilie Hastey who also had the title of Miss Sunset Place Teen USA 2006 before winning the state title. After a brief welcome and update on Miss Hastey’s reign it was time to bring the Teen USA delegates on for the judge’s results. Up first was the special awards of Miss Amity (Jasmine Avery) and Miss Photogenic (Vania Pedraja) as this got the party started!     Then the results were announced; 1st alternate – Tiana Guillermo Miss Pinecrest Teen – Phillipa Valencia Miss Kendall Teen – Jasmine Avery Miss South Miami Teen – Alyssa Rivera Miss Sunset Place Teen – Vania Pedraja       Miss Valencia is the new Miss Pinecrest Teen USA!       Up next was time for The Miss Sunset Place USA Results beginning with Miss Amity (Christy Castillo) and Miss Photogenic (Rachel Rose) as these titles have a pass to state included.
