Miss Southwest Florida Teen USA August 12, 2007     Backstage before the show       The first pageant of our special Summer Season saw The Road To Hollywood venture on I-75 to the second Southwest Florida Teen USA Pageant. The title represents the region covered by Naples to Sarasota. The competition took place Sunday afternoon in Ft. Myers at The Riverside Community Center. Hosted by Miss Southwest Florida Teen USA 2007 Riley Nowell and Fox Four Southwest Florida personality Astrid Martinez. With a sold out house the pageant was ready to kick into high gear.       Samantha Sillery in onstage interviews (left) & Chelsey Petro in evening gown (right)     The ten Miss Teen USA delegates opened the show with self-introductions. The Teen USA delegates were in pink “mark of beauty” tee shirts with black shorts. This was the first chance the audience had to meet the young ladies. Then the pageantry competition resumed as it was time for the swimwear competition, the delegates competed in one-piece suits of their own choosing. Then it was everyone favorite, the evening gown competition showed the delegates flair for fashion. All competitions ended with group comparison judging.       Evening Gown review     The finalists       The judges responsible for the selection of Miss Southwest Florida Teen USA were Liliana Marin, Univision News Anchor; Craig P. Hilderbrand, Commercial Advertising Photographers; Hannah Edwards, scout – Elite Model Management Miami; Silvana Camargo, entertainment reporter Telemundo; Carlos Zapata, news anchor Azteca America; and Kampi Chaleusouk, public relations executive – Impact Miami.      As soon as the votes were tabulated by the official auditor the results were handed to Ms. Martinez to read the judges results. Up first was the Miss Photogenic award for the pageant, all of which qualified the winner to the state pageant: Miss Photogenic was presented to Kaitlin Craig. Then the final four were announced in no particular order: Kaitlin Craig; Brittney King; Chelsey Petro and Marsha Nangkal.     Then Ms. Martinez and Miss Nowell called to the front of the stage the finalists and read the results for the title of Miss Southwest Florida Teen USA: 3rd Runner Up is Marsha Nangkal 2nd Runner Up is Chelsey Petro 1st Runner Up is Kaitlin Craig Miss Southwest Florida Teen USA 2008 is Britney King!       Miss King’s crowning moment     Pageant Director Ms. Apkarian with Miss King       It was truly a great day of pageantry. Congratulations to Miss King on her victory and entry to state in Hollywood. Also congratulations to Pageant Director Christina Apkarian and her dedicated staff of volunteers who put together one fun afternoon of pageantry.
