January 7, 2006

The Road To Hollywood visited Citrus County for the first time ever as the inaugural Miss Nature Coast USA & Miss Nature Coast Teen USA Pageants took place in the historic Plantation Inn & Golf Resort in Crystal River. Hosted by Miss Vermont USA Amanda Gillman the delegates welcomed the enthusiastic crowd at The Plantation Conference Center. The show started with an outstanding production number as the contestants danced and vogued in black outfits of their own choosing.

After the high energy opening it was time for the six Miss USA and four Miss Teen USA delegates to introduce themselves to the judges and audience. Up next was on stage interviews that were not scored but gave the audience and judges more insight into their intelligence and poise. With questions from the judges the ladies did an outstanding job of thinking on their feet. After the final competitor completed the interview it was time for a vocal performance by Chelsea Bacon, Miss Silver Spring’s Outstanding Teen.
