» IN THE AUDIENCE
The
Road to Hollywood ventured to the lovely seacoast of Pinellas County for our
first ever Miss St. Petersburg USA + Teen USA Pageants. Held at the charming
freeFall Theater on Central Avenue in Downtown St. Pete it was a fun afternoon
of pageantry and friendships as we plant the Miss USA Flag in this city on the
Gulf. After a weekend discovering the Gasparilla Festival and visiting the
brand new Dali Museum we were in the pageant mood as a beautiful Sunday
afternoon awaited our fashion celebration.
It
was great to see the support of our neighboring titleholders as they each had
the opportunity to go onstage and speak before the admiring audience. While we
were working diligently claiming a new city our friends at Lucky Starz were
producing quite the spectacular in Palm Beach County. Once again Pageant
Director Trudi Williams and her hardworking staff produced a lovely event at
the West Palm Beach Crowne Plaza’s Grand Ballrooom. It was also great to see
the support for our South Florida Pageant Friends as another outstanding
turnout greeted our PBC delegates.
This weekend due to scheduling conflicts at the venue for Doral we are taking this Super Bowl Sunday to concentrate on Football! But next weekend we resume with our Miss Broward County USA Pageant at the Westfield Mall under the direction of Rafael Gallego and should be another competitive and well attended event.

» KUDOS & DID YOU KNOWS
- Kudos to Miss Florida Keys USA 2012 Angela Overton at the WGIRLS Miami launch party at the famed Roy Teeluck Salon located in Downtown Miami. The event was held to benefit Lotus House Shelter, a unique resource center and residential facility serving homeless women and children in the heart of the historic African-American district of Overtown. The beginning stages of this established organization made way for inspired young professionals to become a part of it by raising awareness and igniting the interest of those eager to lend a helping hand. Way to get involved in such a great cause Angela!
- Kudos to Miss Ft. Walton Beach USA 2013 Brooke Brown as this past Saturday she
- Kudos to Miss Miami Springs Teen USA 2013 J’Len Bester as she was a special guest at the annual Miles for Marli Foundation fundraising event for Ovarian Cancer awareness at Stafford Park in Miami Springs. She helped Miami Springs resident Marli Wolfe and her family by collecting pledges and walking in this benefit event. It was a wonderful day of grass roots volunteering as many local schools and groups were there taking part in this walkathon. Way to support a great local cause J’Len!
