Ms. Garcia does her best Vanna White in the News Room
» MISS FLORIDA USA DAY ONE
With
the crown officially hers for less than 12 hours our new Miss Florida USA 2011
Lissette Garcia hit the ground running with her first appearance Sunday
morning. As the featured guest on ABC South Florida’s Sunday Morning News
Ms. Garcia was ready for her first “official” interview! At 9:20am she
went on-air and was interviewed live before the cameras. Eloquent and
beautiful she aced the interview and impressed all those on set. Before she
left she posed for pictures after making new friends at WPLG-Miami/Ft.
Lauderdale.

» MISS FLORIDA TEEN USA FOOD FUNDRAISER AT LIME-PEMBROKE PINES
Tuesday
night our pageant friends and family from Broward County all the way to the
Emerald Coast joined Miss Florida Teen USA Alyssa Rivera for a
“fun-raiser” at Mexican Restaurant Lime in the Pembroke Pines Shops. With
all food proceeds from the Dinner shift going to our “Going Away to Miss
Teen USA” fund for Miss Rivera it was quite the gesture in support. Even
Miramar Mayor Lori Moseley joined the festivities. A great time was had by one
and all – now look for our daily updates from Miss Teen USA starting next
Friday exclusively on your favorite pageant website on the internet.

» LITTLE SISTER PRETTY IN PINK PARTY
The morning of our Gigantic Saturday began at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa with our first annual “Little Sister Pretty in Pink Party” starring our Little Sisters of Miss Florida USA. Hosted and chaired by our super volunteer Janet Llerena and held in the Crystal Room of the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa it was a fun morning of food, friendship and pageantry. A special thank you goes to LaCasa Hermosa as they gave goody bags to all of our Little Sisters. Look for exclusive reports on our first ever Little Sister Blog beginning August 1st and also look for announcements of an August fun event any day now!

LITTLE SISTERS AT BROADCAST
The little sisters were later that evening special guest at the live broadcast finals of Miss Florida USA 2011. Sitting in their own row they looked so pretty in their white dresses. After rooting on their big sisters a surprise awaited them, they would get VIP treatment and go onstage to meet their new biggest sister. Ms. Garcia took some of her first official photos with both her Little Sister and our Little Sister group. It was truly a night they will remember for a lifetime…

LITTLE SISTERS YOUTUBE INTRODUCTIONS
Always
the hit of the evening, our Little Sisters did it again during Friday’s
Preliminary Competition. They stole the hearts of our audience as they were so
cute during their onstage introductions. Led by Miss Florida USA 2010 Megan
Clementi each Little Sister got to introduce herself to the audience as their
big sisters rooted them on from backstage. It was obvious several future
titleholders began their enjoyment of the stage that special evening. As we
head into a big year for our Little Sister Program check out their own page
debuting August 1st right here at www.MissFloridaUSA.com!
KUDOS & DID YOU KNOWS
-
Kudos
to Miss Central Florida Teen USA
Rebecca Chisholm as she was a special guest at the Coke Zero 400 at
Daytona International Speedway as all the eyes of car racing was watching. The
rain didn't dampen spirits as Miss Chisholm assisted Daytona Beach Mayor
Glenn Richie as he presented the "Key-to-the City" to Alan
Gustafson, crew chief for Daytona's very own native NASCAR driver Mark
Martin. Way to be a part of such an exciting event Rebecca!

Kudos
to Miss Florida USA 2011 Lissette
Garcia who hit the ground running her first week! With appearances on
local, national and international television all eyes were on our newest
titleholder. After a Sunday interview as previously noted the rest of the week
had Ms. Garcia on her media tour of South Florida as our Public Relations Team
at Impact Miami had her hopping. The week was highlighted by a special
introduction on International Network Univision. Way to meet your press
Lissette!

PICTURE OF THE WEEK!
You
know we love pageantry and color amongst our Picture of The Week Committee. So
when we saw this picture of contestant Eliany Colon who sported the Fantasia:
Macaws theme as she competed in the costume competition for the Miss Panama
Universe Pageant this past weekend. We love the colors and are dreaming of the
rainforests as we present Ms. Colon with our coveted POTW title.
