Miss Florida USA Faces

One of the most coveted prizes of both Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA is their photo sessions with Bob Lasky of Photos By Lasky. Not only is Mr. Lasky an internationally acclaimed fashion and personality photographer but he is also a lot of fun! So this past month our Jessica Rafalowski ventured down to North Miami for an afternoon of fun and modeling. The final results will be sent in just past the holiday but we thought we would share with you these candid photos!

It’s always fun to take a look back on the year that was! And 2007 brought us some memorable pictures and people, not to mention some great pageantry. So put on those flashback glasses and let’s start with this past January.

The 58^th edition of Miss Florida USA took center stage during July. With delegates from Pensacola to Key West our state championship took place in Hollywood at The Westin Diplomat Resort and Bailey Concert Hall. Volusia County and Jessica Rafalowski took the title as the former Miss North Miami USA and Miss Florida USA 2007 Jenna Edwards passed on her title

on the two hour live international broadcast. As always the event ended with a grand party at The Westin Diplomat.

It was off to Pasadena California and our national championship The Miss Teen USA saw the former Miss Sunset Place Teen USA and reigning Miss Florida USA 2007 Annilie Hastey took the stage representing Florida. Unfortunately Miss Hastey did not catch the eye of the judges but had a wonderful trip and represented the Sunshine State with class and grace. The Road to Hollywood saw it’s last stop of the season in Ft. Myers for the Miss Southwest

As Summer comes to an end it was all about Miss Florida Teen USA 2008. Our host city of Hollywood was the perfect host as it was four days of fun and games surrounding our annual PageantDiva.com Seminar Day. Highlights included Hollywood Beach Day, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, The Hippo Slide and of course our 5^th annual Chicken Fighting Competition!

- Did You Know our Miss Broward USA 2008 Lindsay Shockey is now off the market? Congratulations to the former Ms. Shockey as she tied the knot earlier this month in Miami. We always had a weakness for Mrs. Shockey as she started in our system as the youngest of the Class of 2000. She is off to Atlanta to take the peach state by storm as a interior designer. Congratulations and best wishes Lindsay.

- Kudos to our Miss St. Petersburg USA 2008 Tatiana Schoepler as she is now a member of The Tampa Bay Lightning Girls for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning. She is a member of the 14 girl squad which perform dance routines, cheer, and assist on the ice at each Lightning home game and make various appearances in the community. Auditions/Tryouts were held in August over the span of a week which consisted of dancing, skating, and an interview. Congratulations Tatiana and watch out for icing!

- Kudos to Miss Florida USA 2005 Melissa Witek who ran into our Miss Florida USA 2008 Jessica Rafalowski with their two mothers at an Andy Rodick Foundation Fundraiser in Brevard County this past month and was kind enough to email us this picture. Ms. Rafalowski was quite the hit of the event as she conducted an on-court interview with Mr. Rodick after his tennis exhibition. Thank you for the great picture Melissa!
