The International Swimming Hall of Fame Fundraising Fashion Show

Thursday night Team Pompano Beach USA (Stephanie Caits and Yecenia Santibanez) along with Miss West Broward Teen USA Michelle Chaban assisted in a historic fashion show of women’s swimwear. The swimwear collection  spanned the ages at The International Swimming Hall of Fame on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. The evening culminated in special fashion show featuring our delegates and several swimmers from the Olympic development team. The collection was commemorating and celebrating 100 years of women’s rights. How swimming has changed our culture and the status and image of women.

The evening was part seminar on the evolution and part display on the runway with authentic suits from the era. Ms. Caits modeled a vintage 1941 swimsuit worn by Esther Williams. Miss Chaban and Miss Santibanez then presented two turn of the century suits before hitting the Olympic speedo suits for the finale. What a fun evening it was! Thank you to Miss Pompano Beach USA Director Dana Klein for the invitation.

» FORMER MISS FLORIDA USA TO COVER SUPREME COURT

Shannon Bream to Cover Supreme Court for Fox News

Former Miss Florida USA 1994 and Washington DC News Anchor Shannon DePuy Bream is leaving her NBC station at the end of the month to join Fox News Channel, where she'll cover the Supreme Court. "The good thing about the Fox job is that it allows me to use my background as an attorney," Bream said in an interview yesterday. "So for me that was kind of irresistible, the chance to do that." Bream replaces Megyn Kelly, who left Washington for New York this year to co-host Fox News Channel's morning show "America's Newsroom" with Bill Hemmer. "It's been great having Shannon on the team," Vickie Burns, WRC's vice-president of news, wrote in a staff memo. "We've enjoyed and appreciated her smarts and warm personality."

Bream, 36, came to WRC (Channel 4) in 2004 as the weekend morning anchor and moved to evening news last year. She will start at the cable news network Nov. 26. As a Florida lawyer, Bream appeared as a "citizen panelist" on Bill Maher's now-defunct ABC late night show "Politically Incorrect" in 1999.
