The Audience: Miss
Homestead/Florida Keys USA & Teen USA
It was absolutely thrilling to bring our Miss Florida USA Family to our southernmost region. The third outdoor pageant of the year was celebrated at Boondocks Grille which converted into pageant central this past Sunday. While the mainland was having record rains the sky’s were perfect on Ramrod Key as eleven contestant vied for the title.

Team
Halavin produced their fifth and final pageant of the season and it was a fun
one! Hot and humid, yes, but hey it’s the Keys so you kind of expected it.
The ladies handled it gracefully (as did the judges!) in both gowns and
interview ware. Several of South Florida’s titleholders were in the house
and so were our cameras. Enjoy!

Shoe
shopping at Sergio Zelcer
Our Miss Florida Teen USA 2007 Annilie Hastey is finishing up her last year in high school and getting ready for the national championship of teen pageantry Miss Teen USA. Even though the date and location haven’t been announced it hasn’t stopped the preparations. This past week Miss Hastey along with her mother Maria and Pageant Director Mary Lou Gravitt visited Sergio Zelcer Shoes and Bijoux Terner for some great prizes!
The day started early at The Miami Merchandise Mart at what can be best described as accessory heaven! Bijoux Terner has cornered the fun jewelry look and has taken over the world with their one $10.00 price for everything. In both Los Angeles and Palm Springs everyone was wearing Bijou Terner and our Annilie will be so fashion forward with this seasons best. One problem! She couldn’t fill up her bag full enough and will return for round two very soon.

Loving the pearls! (left) Thank you Michelle at Sergio Zelcer! (right)
Then it was all about the shoes as Sergio Zelcer kills when it comes to putting your best foot forward! It was styles aplenty as one of our newest sponsors really “stepped” up to the plate in offering some great prizes. Thank you to all of our friends at both fine stores and we look forward to returning in the near future. Until then we captured some fun memories on pictures.
Thank
you Bijoux Terner

- Kudos to Team West Broward USA as Michelle Chaban and Sulema Sanchez volunteered their efforts this past Sunday morning at The Arthritis Foundation South Florida Walk-a-thon. After the walk Miss Chaban and Ms. Sanchez assisted with their silent auction. Great way to get involved Michelle and Sulmea!

- Kudos to Jeane Almulla, Miss Avalon Park Teen USA 2007 on her involvement with the Girl Scouts Citrus Council, one of the largest chapters in the Country serving over 20,000 girl scouts from a half dozen counties. Jeane keynoted the Mean Chick, Clicks and Dirty Tricks session helping middle school girls deal with bullies and stigmas that are dealt with in middle school--talking to over 50 girls about this topic Sunday April 30th. Then on Sunday Miss Almula was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the Distinguished Annual Gold Awards Banquet "In her Honor" at the Disney Yacht Club. Great job Jeane with this wonderful cause!

PICTURE OF THE WEEK!
If you are a frequent reader of our POTW column then you will know our judges love the beach and warm weather (hey we live in Florida!). So anytime you combine pageantry and pix were an easy sell. So when Rachel Legrain-Trapani, Miss France 2007's picture was submitted it was a slam-dunk. Ms. Legrain-Trapani's picture was shot on the beach at the Gran Melia Cancun in her BSC Swimwear Thailand swimsuit. What a big week it was for France, first they elect a new president and now they win Picture of The Week. Viva la France!
