We revisited Hollywood’s Young Circle Arts Park for this year’s edition of Expo Alfresco, our host cities ultimate food and networking extravaganza. Our Miss Florida USA 2007 Jenna Edwards led our video cameras throughout the event as they were accompanied by some of our preliminary titleholders in the USA division. It was a great night for dinning, networking and making new pageant friends.

Joining us for the evening were; Christian Ericksen, Miss Southeast Florida USA; Nicole Kelly, Miss Flagler County; Yazmin Navarro, Miss Hollywood USA; Cristina Rumsfelt, Miss North Miami USA; Jaclyn Walbroehl, Miss Broward County Fair; and Jessica White, Miss Pembroke Pines USA. The evening included a tour of the beautiful gardens as well as sampling food from over 40 restaurants….nobody left hungry!

» South Florida Aids Walk
Sunday morning twenty of our regional titleholders joined Halavin Productions for the 2nd Annual South Florida Aids Walk. As part of our Miss Florida USA Cares program Team Florida USA hit the road as they traveled 10 kilometers for charity. It was a beautiful walk through scenic Ft. Lauderdale as over 3,500 walkers from all walks of life supported this worthy cause.

An
exuberant crowd of over three thousand walkers joined in for the second annual
AIDS Walk/Ft. Lauderdale. This year's walk, hosted by Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye
for the Straight Guy) featured a special appearance by Grammy- Award winning
singer and performing legend, Patti Labelle, who performed an inspiring
rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone". Team Florida USA met for the
Opening Ceremonies in Huizenga Plaza. The Walk raised $450,000 for HIV/AIDS
treatment and prevention services in Broward County by several community
service organizations.

Reigning Miss Ormond Beach USA, Erin McKinnon flew out to the Texas Motor Speedway to meet with her official sponsor, NASCAR
driver Tony Stewart! Tony, who is familiar with needing sponsors, was more than happy to assist our Erin. Miss Ormond Beach
Teen USA, Halsey Kinne and reigning Miss Daytona Beach Teen USA Nicole Fornino were special guests at the “Play Pink” Tennis
Tournament to benefit breast cancer patients under the care of The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler. More than 80 female tennis
players and the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University national tennis team hit the courts dressed in pink to benefit
our local Hospice center.

Miss Port Orange Teen USA Leah Bowman spent the day at the Ormond Beach Middle School. She spoke to the middle school girls
about good self-esteem and fitness. Here she is shown with sixth graders dressed out for PE class. Leah talking to the girls about
good self-esteem and fitness. We had to add Miss Bowman’s appearance at the New Smyrna Beach Library. The emphasis was on
reading and how it lets us enjoy magical worlds. Leah is the fairy princess, and she is shown with a woodland nymph and the
fairy godmother.

Play Pink Tennis with Miss Kinne and Miss Forino
- Kudos to Emily Kuchar, Miss Florida Sunshine USA 2008 who just finished filming the movie, "Sydney White & the Seven Dorks", starring Amanda Bynes and Sara Paxton. A modern day version of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs set among students in their freshman year of college Ms. Kuchar plays sorority sister opposite Sara Paxton. Way to get one amazing opportunity Emily and don’t forget to invite us to the Hollywood opening!

- Kudos to Riley Nowell, Miss South West Florida Teen USA 2007 as she joined our friends from Pollo Tropical at their Naples Restaurant opening this past Saturday. Miss Nowell hosted several segments for Pollo’s new online video network and then judged the Little Miss Pollo Tropical Pageant with several other Southwest Florida celebrities. Then she was interviewed for the areas Telemundo Network station. Way to get involved in the community Riley!
