Miss
Pompano Beach USA Seminar Day!
While most of our Miss Florida USA Family were coloring their Easter Eggs this past Saturday, eight Miss Pompano Beach USA and Teen USA delegates were preparing for their big night April 22nd. Under the director of Pageant Producer Dana Klein and with some special guests it was one fun afternoon of pageantry. The Pompano Beach City Center was a gracious host and wonderful sponsor of the first time event.

Special guests included Miss Broward USA 2008 Lindsay Shockey and Miss Broward County en USA Jaclyn Walbroehl who shared pageant tips and told of their competition experiences. Then Florida USA Executive Director Grant Gravitt, Jr. gave out several door prizes from www.PageantDiva.com while speaking of our pageant family and all the fun of state! The day ended with a photo shoot for the local Pompano Beach Pelican newspaper.

Look for our friends at Pompano Beach City Center to have a special pre-pageant outdoor screening of Miss Congeniality. The special outdoor film showing takes place Friday night at 7:00pm and all of our Miss Florida USA friends are invited. The outdoor mall is on Copan’s Road on US 1 just a few minutes east of I-95. See everyone they’re a week from Friday!

» “In Hollywood It’s Never Too Hot For Fashion” Fashion Show
Thursday
April 19th is the seventh annual (fifth under this banner) charity
fashion show “In Hollywood It’s Never Too Hot For Fashion”. Ten of our
supermodels from this years Miss Florida USA 2008 Pageant along with Miss
Florida USA 2007 Jenna Edwards are the special guests of this wonderful
evening. All funds go to The Women & Children’s Initiative of The
Broward Outreach Center, the homeless assistance initiative of Broward County.
Last
year over $50,000.00 was raised via the fashion show and silent auction. All
of the funds go to the BOC and last years efforts built a much-needed
playground for the children of the center. This year’s event features
several members of the Hollywood government as well as community leaders,
police and our calendar worth fireman. A great evening is had by one and all!
This
years festivities has moved to the friendly surroundings of The Hollywood
Beach Marriott just south of Sheridan Street and A-1-A on the ocean. The
evening starts with a buffet and silent auction at 6:00pm and the fashion show

» A Golf Tournament for Miss Broward County Fair!
How many titleholders have their own Golf Tournament? Our Miss Broward County Fair 2007 Jaclyn Walbroehl had them tee it up recently in support
of her pageant endeavors at Grand Palms Country Club in Pembroke Pines. Forty-five contestants (golfers!) hit the links to make sure our Ms.
Walbroehl was ready for state.
Sponsors like Manny Ugalde, from Rick Case Honda, assisted and was the major coordinator and even donated a pair of his own Miami Heat season
tickets for the raffle!, a big thanks to Mr. Ugalde for coordinating all of the players!
