Miss Florida USA Faces

With three pageants in the past few weeks we have a little catching up to do! The first competition was last weekend at Miss Broward County USA while this past weekend we traveled to Miss Daytona Beach USA and Miss Marion County USA. The fun is to bring back the pictures of our Miss Florida USA Family!

This week was highlighted by Ms. Edwards trip to Sergio Zelcer for a day of shoe shopping! This year’s Miss Florida USA Prize Package includes cutting edge shoes from The Spanish Leather Collection by Sergio Zelcer. So much fun as pageant director Mary Lou Gravitt went along for the fun and brought back pictures!

Wednesday was an early start as Ms. Edwards was a special guest at The Florida Women’s Chamber of Commerce breakfast with Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump. It was a grand introduction with the recent Apprentice winner as Mar Lago was the epicenter for the states leading female entrepreneurs. Look for pictures of this event next week!

- Did You Know (this) Friday night our Miss Florida USA 2007 Jenna Edwards delivers the prized 2006 Beaujolais Nouveau at a benefit for "A Child is Missing". This is an organization that helps our police departments and parents relocate children and seniors who wander off or are abducted. This year The Riverside Hotel hosts the event as area chef's, the wine industry, and South Florida community leaders gather to suport this organization. The event is celebrating the coming of 'Beaujolais Nouveau with a "Tour d' Vine". Tickets for the five-course dinner by the areas celebrity chef’s ranges from $150.00 - $2,000.00. and can be purchased by calling the charity directly at 954 763-1288 or via email at tiffanydg@achildismissing.org. .

- Kudos to Miss Miami Teen USA 2007 Alexandra Montesino and Miss South Florida USA 2007 Ashley Washington who read to a captivated group of children at Simon Malls Care Bear Book Reading Saturday at both Dadeland Mall and International Mall. Not only did they read to the children they played hide and seek with an electronic Care Bear! Way to do great work with the children Alexandra and Ashley!

How much fun is it to reconnect with your tradition? This past weekend we connected with our Miss Florida USA 1957 Deanne Lowe who we learned was the head of elections for Volusia County! Well we had a picture onstage with two of our newest titleholders and it completes the cycle of our states outstanding women. Naturally the committee’s choice for POT has a homecoming holiday feel!
