» Miss Florida Teen USA Dinner at Mama Mia’s
With
over fifty Miss Florida Teen USA delegates in town for the mandatory Seminar
day the following day it was time for a get together family dinner at Mama
Mia’s on Hollywood’s Young Circle. This optional event was a great way for
the families and the delegates to meet and greet in an informal fun
environment.
The food was Italian and fantastic. The entertainment included a DJ and our natural “hams” who spent most of the evening dancing the night away. Co-Pageant Director Michael Galanes called all of the delegates to the center stage area and had them introduce themselves and say a story to the audience. It was so much fun!

restaurant turned into a dance club

The food was delicious and the company fantastic
Then it was time to say goodnight as a full weekend awaited our delegates. But fun was had and so many new friends were made as the delegates and their families had a blast! We can’t wait to see everyone in October for state and enjoy the pictures from this great evening.

» Miss Venezuela pageant: deaf beauty queen gets 3rd place crown

Caracas, Sept 15. (AP): The 20-year-old Lidymar Jonaitis was crowned Miss Venezuela, but joining her on the winner's stage was a 19-year-old beauty queen who became the country's first deaf contestant honoured with a crown in the pageant.

Vanesa Peretti, the
first deaf and mute person to participate in Venezuela, won the third-place
crown of Miss International last night and will represent her country in that
pageant. She answered questions from the jury in sign language, while an
interpreter spoke aloud her answers for the audience.
Second place went
to Claudia Suarez, who will represent Venezuela in the Miss World pageant.
