» Miss Florida Teen USA Update
After a tough semester at Florida State (but a very successful one!) it was all about getting ready for Miss Teen USA the past weekend for our Miss Florida Teen USA Jennifer Wooten. It was a whirlwind weekend as the visit started with some camera time on the productions stages at The Hollywood Production Center. The Miss Florida Teen USA segment will show some fun unseen footage from last years state championship along with Miss Wooten hosting. The finished piece will premier on the July 15th telecast.

Miss Wooten in the shopping mode
After the lights were dimmed it was time to have some fun at our sponsor’s shop in Miami’s Merchandise Mart as Bijoux Terner made our Miss Wooten feel like a VIP! She had so much fun gathering the perfect accessories for her upcoming trip to Palm Springs. Afterwards it was time to return to the soundstages for a Mock Interview Session modeled after the national competition. Thanks to our great panel who donated a Friday evening to help our family prepare this years representative!

After
an intense June and July of conditioning in the hot Central Florida sun. Our
next official appearance for Miss Wooten is a fun pageant filled weekend in
the Miss Florida Teen USA suite at The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. Look
for her to assist in the crowning of our next Miss Florida USA! Then it full
speed to California as our reports begin July 31st on here at www.MissFloridaUSA.com.
» Hollywood Sizzles!
Last night was a special night in Hollywood as the 6th annual “Never Too Hot For Fashion” Broward Outreach Center Charity Fashion Show hit the runways on Hollywood Beach. Our nine supermodels represented the Miss Florida USA family as well over $30,000.00 was raised for the homeless assistance project of Broward County. Since the event was so late we have a few pictures for your enjoyment today with a full article and many more pictures in Monday’s Pretape Update!

Once again we want to thank all of our Miss Florida Pageant Family (including the reigning Miss Florida America Mari Wilensky and Mrs. Florida Marianne Oden) who either manned the phones or assisted on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk or Simon Mall Fundraisers as together we raised over $150,000 for the Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Wilma relief efforts both in The Gulf Coast Region and in Broward County. » Kudos & Did You Knows

- Kudos to Sarah Callahan, Miss Broward County Teen USA 2007 who volunteered to help with the rugby tournaments at the Sunshine State Games held this past weekend. In the pictures you see her with 2 of the teams and the medical team members. She helped in the medical booth and registered teams as they arrived. Stay away from the rugby scrum and way to get involved Sarah!

- Kudos to Danyel Crecelius, Miss Homestead/Florida Keys Teen USA 2007. as she recently met with Coral Springs Mayor Brook and made quite the impression as she was asked her to be included in several city wide efforts including the Government Leadership Committee. Seems like one of our family has political aspirations. Way to be a community leader Danyel.

Kudos to Angel Coleman, Miss Oakland Park USA 2007 and Christian
Ericksen, Miss Oakland Park Teen USA 2007 who meet with the City of
Oakland Park Mayor Steven Arnst Tuesday afternoon. The mayor invited the
two titleholders to attend the July 5th Commision meeting to introduce them to
the Commissioners and wish them well for state. Mayor Arnst is
serving his third term as mayor. Way to represent your region Angel and
Christian!

This
week's featured picture is all about doing a good thing. Nine of our
titleholders on Thursday night donated their day to model clothing from
Hollywood designers at the charity “Never Too Hot For Fashion” show and
assisted in raising over $30,000.00 at last count for the homeless assistance of
Broward County. This good deed needs to be rewarded as this weeks “grand
finale” captures our prestigious Picture of The Week title. Congratulations!
