Miss Florida USA Faces

It was a pageant doubleheader at Florida International Universities North Miami Campus as two shows awaited Miami Pageant fans. Miss Miami Teen USA was first up with a twelve-noon curtain. In the audience for her first appearance as Miss Homestead/Florida Keys Teen USA 2007 was Danyel Crecelius with her director Angie Halavin. It was also great catching up with former Miss Miami USA Masielle Otero who judged for the afternoon. Now in the world of home finance she looks great and is climbing the corporate ladder.

The evening session featured The Miss Miami USA Pageant and had a large contingent of The South Florida USA family in attendance. Hosting both shows and doing an outstanding job were the outgoing Team Miami USA of Rachel Rose (Miss Hollywood USA 2007) and Kendra Waller (Miss Gold Coast USA 2007). It was also great seeing directors Glenda Byrd (complete with her lovely daughter); Barbara Ewald along with Angie and Mandi Halavin. They were complete with their delegates as the bling factor was in the dangerous level! It was so much fun to see one of our favorite Miss Florida USA delegates of all time, Jennifer Bini-Taylor, in Jennifer Aniston’s vehicle “Rumor Has It” also starring Shirley McLaine and Kevin Costner. Then I’m scanning television the other night and she’s staring in “Vegas”. She’s also been in such favorites as “Charmed” on the WB; “Arli$$” on HBO; “Diagnosis Murder” on CBS; as well as movie favorites “The Water Boy” with Adam Sandler; and “Wild Things” with Matt Dillon and Kevin Costner.

- Miss Mexico Priscila Perales Elizondo poses for a photo before an interview in Mexico City. Miss Mexico will take on the task of telling the world of its need to break the prejudices against thousands of people who migrate every year to the United States in search of better opportunities at the Miss Universe pageant, which takes place at the end of July in Los Angeles, Calif.

- Kudos to Miss Jacksonville USA 2007 Tara Chandler on her VIP appearance in the 58^th annual “Opening of the Beaches Parade” on Jacksonville Beach. Ms. Chandler had a convertible to call her own in this traditional kick off of the Summer Season that drew over 65,000 people along the parade route. Way to represent your hometown Tara!

- Miss Florida USA 2001 Julie Donaldson who was in Miami recently reporting live on her new hometown team The New Jersey Nets as they played our beloved Miami Heat. Reporting live back to New York is the newest Sports Anchor in New York City! We are so proud of Julie as she rises the network ranks!
