The Miss Florida USA 2007 titleholders

The talk of the Palm Beaches last weekend was the second annual Miss Gold Coast USA and Teen USA Pageants in the fast growing city of Royal Palm Beach last weekend. Pageant Director Glenda Byrd and her hard working staff of volunteers celebrated the spirit of New Orleans with a wonderfully themed pageant. The enthusiastic crowd supported the delegates during the evening and the pageant ended with a New Orleans style parade complete with the new titleholders, contestants, volunteers and yours truly! A great time was had by one and all, enjoy the pictures!

» HISPANIC FEST
A Broward County tradition is The Maroone Hispanic Fest a festival fundraiser for Hispanic Unity of Florida that features the finest in popular Spanish music. Held at Broward Community College Central (Home of Miss Florida USA) for the first time in its fourteen-year history. Representing The Miss Florida USA family were Miss Sunset Place USA Yazmin Navarro and Miss West Broward Teen USA Adriana Pedique who were in the VIP area amongst such celebrities as Victor Manuelle and Juan Pina who headlined the concert.

Before a large but very wet crowd, Ms. Navarro and Miss Pedique had the honor of presenting in Spanish a special award to Columbian musical legend Juan Pina. Hispanic Unity of Florida honored Mr. Pina for his international good will through music. They also met Sohanny from República Dominicana who danced up quite the storm onstage. Afterwards Ms. Pedique was interviewed for local television to add a little something extra to a great day.

- Kudos to The Halavin Productions team of Sarah Callahan (Miss Broward Teen USA); Alicia Castellano (Miss Pembroke Pines Teen USA) and Lindsey Shockey (Miss Pembroke Pines USA) as they completed The Broward County Corporate Run this past Thursday in West Broward. Completing the 5K was quite the challenge and our ladies barely broke a sweat! Good job ladies.

- Kudos to Chelsea Korka (West Broward); Bridgette Rodriquez (Hispanidad USA 2005); Rachel Rose (Hollywood USA); Lynsey Shockey (Pembroke Pines USA); while the Miss Florida Teen USA titleholders were Alicia Castellano (Pembroke Pines Teen USA); Sarah Callahan (Broward County Teen USA); Krizia Toledo (Hollywood Teen USA); Adriana Pedrique (West Broward Teen USA) and Jillian Wunderlich (Ft. Meyers Teen USA) who assisted this past Saturday Morning in the annual Easter Marshmallow Drop & Easter Egg Hunt at Montella Park in West Hollywood. The Easter bunny was the host for a day highlighted by a Marshmallow drop to over 2,000 children (and delegates!) waiting below. Afterward our titleholders handed out prizes onstage and introduced themselves to the packed audience. Way to get everyone in The Easter Spirit!
