» IN THE AUDIENCE: Southwest Florida USA and West Broward USA
Four pageants in two days in such distant cities as Gainesville; Ft. Myers; North Miami and Coconut Creek! But with my trusty digital camera in tow we had a blast and have the pictures to prove it. Starting with a trip across The Everglades and I-75 it was the first ever Miss Southwest Florida USA and Teen USA Pageants. The Posh Production Team of April and Tracy put on a lovely event! It was great seeing both Jillian Wunderlich (Miss Ft. Meyers Teen USA 2007) and Heather Mowry (Miss Ft. Meyers Teen USA 2006) in the house!

In a mad sprint East across the Everglades we were too late to make the crowning of Miss North Miami USA and a true pageant doubleheader! But it was a new day as Sunday afternoon saw us driving to a much closer preliminary as Miss West Broward USA and Director Barbara Ewald put on a great event with a lovely theater and a Miss USA State caliber set and opening production number. It was great seeing so many of the Miss Florida USA Family-South in attendance. Enjoy the pictures.

» MISS USA® 2006 MUSICAL PERFORMERS EAST VILLAGE OPERA COMPANY
New to the 2006 show, the Pageant will
include live performances throughout the telecast by The East Village Opera
Company, which takes classical opera arias and turns them into bona fide rock
anthems.
The East Village Opera Company- a powerhouse five-piece band, a string quartet,
and two outstanding vocalists-brings the towering emotion and timeless
musicality of opera into the 21st century on its Decca/Universal Classics debut
with its inventive, hard-hitting arrangements of the music's "greatest
hits"óincluding "La Donna E Mobile" from Rigoletto,
"Habanera" from Carmen, and "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot ó
performed at full length and in the original languages. The East Village Opera
Company was featured in our GEN ART column last year and is one of the
editor’s favorites. Should be fun to see them live in Baltimore.

» Jennifer Wooten’s Shoot with Heather Forester
Miss Florida Teen USA 2006 took some time off from her hectic freshman schedule for a shoot in Panama City with one of our favorite photographers Heather Forester. We think this give Jennifer a totally different look and will work well into her portfolio. Enjoy!
