The hard working judges join the evening's titleholders
» Miss Orlando/Polk County/Lake Buena Vista USA Recap
It’s always fun to attend a pageants run by Frank and Julie Broughton. They always have a great group of volunteer staff and a light and fun vibe. This year they combined forces under the banner of “Win The Crown, Inc.” and presented a great pageant in their first event together. Saturday’s Orlando USA Super Pageant had three titles in each division and this brought out an amazing group of contestants and quite a crowd!

Cristin’s Miss USA Preparation Update
Once
again our Miss Florida USA 2006 Cristin Duren has been burning up the highway
as the preparations for Miss USA have been kicked up a notch! Stops in the
past week included time in Sarasota, Miami and Hollywood. The itinerary
included shopping, shopping and more shopping!
First stop last Wednesday was Milan Shoes & Bags of Aventura. Shoes, shoes and more shoes were on the agenda. Then it was time to accessorize with Jewelry Worlds Guy Atilla, as it was time to royally accessorize our Miss Florida USA! Pageant Producer Mary Lou Gravitt was Ms. Duren’s shopping buddy as a good time was had by one and all.

So many fittings during the week!
The day went well into the evening as over 4 months of videotaping of Ms. Duren’s reign had to be edited down for presentation to the production staff of Miss USA for inclusion in NBC’s live broadcast. This was done in Tel-Air’s Avid Adrenaline editing suite. Thursday morning began with video taping of questions provided by the staff of Miss USA and included in a video package. The soundstage’s of The Hollywood Production Center provided the prefect lighting and set as our Miss Florida USA looked like a star!

A noon rendezvous with fashion coordinator Sixto Nolasco on South Beach was all about designing the perfect gown. The wardrobe is starting to come together as up next is a top-secret stop for gown fittings by designer Rafael. The one of a kind gown is being designed just for her and will promise to be the talk of Miss USA!

On stage taping a Miss USA interview
, answering the questions to be seen on The NBC broadcast!
Then it was off to Sarasota for a weekend of pageantry and hosting The West Coast Super Pageant. Then a brief stop in Panama City Beach and it was back down to South Florida for shopping on Monday. Gown fittings on Tuesday and then a return to Panama City Beach for preparations for “Deal, No Deal” this weekend in Los Angeles. This is one busy Miss Florida USA! Enjoy the pictures of OUR state representative at the national championship of pageantry.
» Miss Nature Coast USA & Teen USA News

PICTURE OF THE WEEK!
The Pix of The Week staff said this week’s selection reminds them of their childhood birthday parties. Only one big difference (outside of being in Nicaragua) Miss Universe! Natalie Glebova of Canada, takes part in this Pinata celebration with children of the Aldeas S.O.S while in Managua, Nicaragua. Easy with that stick Natalie! No one was hurt during this picture of the week photo, enjoy.
