Miss Citrus Teen USA Recap
It was a pageant marathon this past weekend in Maitland for The Citrus Pageants. Michael Galanes and his staff put together 10 different competitions in two days. I hate to admit but I was in Hollywood for Mardi Gras on the first day of competition but I was up early Sunday for a trip up the turnpike. I arrived just prior to the final day that presented the winners in the different classifications. The one common them amongst the groups were that a future Miss USA was in the room!

It was great to see several alumni in attendance! Avoiding the camera was Valerie Morken (FUSA ’97 t15) who volunteered and flew in from Atlanta for the festivities. Our Miss Florida Teen USA Victoria Ratliff was in attendance and performed. She was at the pageant with her good friend and fellow Jasper resident Lori Duncan (FUSA ’04 & ’05 t15) who looked great.

On hand to help with the multiple crownings included titleholders Savannah Stephens and Jaime Stromondo. Also amongst the delegates competing included Miss Florida Teen USA alumni Kristen Janollo and Tatiana Schoepler. All in all it was a really fun weekend of pageantry! Now it’s on to crown the St. Augustine representative this weekend, look for pictures and results right here at Faces & Places!
Kudos & Did You Knows
- Kudos to Miss Hollywood USA Lindsey Shockey and Miss Hollywood Teen USA Diana Crawford who were waving up a storm at Hollywood’s annual Mardi Gras Celebration this past weekend. They were co grand marshals and of course our cameras were there. Great job ladies!

- Kudos to the ladies of M Productions with their on going commitment to saving the wild lands of South West Florida. Miss Ft. Meyers USA 2006 Ashley Avis; Miss Ft. Meyers Teen USA Heather Mowrey and Miss Sarasota Teen USA Sarah Long lent assistance to the annual Armature Sporting Clays Classic skeet-shooting tournament. Well done ladies!

- Did you know that WE: Women's Entertainment is going deep into the worlds of beauty pageants for a new documentary special. "Chasing the Crown," set to debut April 11, goes behind the scenes of American beauty pageants, examining both the humor and drama of what goes on at the local level of competition. It's hosted by actress and former Miss America Kate Shindle.
- What a concept, throw a pageant on a sea cruise! Sounds like a fun day to me as this
year's Miss Carnaval USA finalists will set sail February 26th and compete for the title and entry into Miss Florida USA. Sea Escape will set sail at 7:30am from Port Everglades in Hollywood. Check out the flyer below for all the details and join Melissa Witek and the Miss Florida USA family!

This Weekend on The Pageant Calendar:
The Road to Hollywood heads north on the turnpike to take in all the action in Sunday’s first ever Miss First Coast USA & Teen USA Pageants. Debonair Productions produces their second of two pageants this season. If your in Orlando join us as Miss Seminole County USA Briton Simon and Miss Seminole County Teen USA Savannah Stephens will co host the festivities at the Holiday Inn Jacksonville Airport starting at 5:00pm.
