February 4th, 2005
In
a proud tradition of helping good causes, this years delegates
competing in Miss Palm Beach County USA & Miss Gold Coast USA
joined forces for the 2005 Greyhound Pets of America Charity Luncheon
and Fashion Show. The historic Hattie Theater in City Place of
Downtown West Palm Beach was the setting for fashion and pageantry
this past Sunday afternoon.
With clothes provided by local retailers including Betsey Johnson; Macy’s; Cache’ at City Place and A Nose For Clothes the fashion show featured twelve models from the Miss Florida USA Family taking the runway. With the Mistress of Ceremonies and Miss Palm Beach County director Linda Di Giacomo providing the details our young women hit the runway with a twist. Each of our models hit the runway with twist; each had an adopted greyhound to share the exhibit!

The runway was fashion on display as this delegate is wearing clothes from super designer Betsey Johnson

The day was about celebrating pet adoption.
Great job ladies!
Congratulations to Gold Coast USA director Glenda Byrd who along with Ms. Di Giacomo gave so much time and effort into this fashion show. They really represented our system! The dignitaries of West Palm Beach were in full attendance for the event. I was fortunate enough to sit next to West Palm Beach Mayor Lois J. Frankel looked forward to having our two new titleholders involved in the community. It seems the Palm Beaches are another city going Miss USA crazy!

Congratulations on a job well done to Glenda Byrd (Director Miss Gold Coast USA)
and Linda Di Giacomo (Director Miss Palm Beach County USA).
A big hand of appreciation goes to delegate models Sarabel Barriero, Daniela Gallo; Ingrid Garcia; Amber Garrod; Myriam Jourdan, Shardae Myers; Pamela Rindone; Jessika Shae; Stephanie Sylvestre; Liza Tutela; Barbara Cosme; Chloe Gordon; Mik Maxwll Adrianna Parchment & Flueange Supreme. What a great job on the runway. The clothes looked great, the house was beautiful and the audience was enthusiastic so enjoy the pictures!

The Shandi Diet:
While perusing the magazine stands, I found this article with an accounting of our Miss USA Shandi Finnessey’s diet leading up to competition. It’s interesting to see the dedication she put into attaining her life goals. This is all about dedication!

Finnessey’s
“Miss USA diet”
Before the pageant, she worked out four hours a day and ate the
following, seasoned with only pepper and Mrs. Dash:
Breakfast: 1 chicken breast, three egg whites, half grapefruit,
sweet potato
Midmorning snack: 1 chicken breast, sweet potato
Lunch: bowl of romaine lettuce, plus tuna in spring water or
chicken breast, with fat-free dressing
Afternoon snack: 1 chicken breast, half a grapefruit
Dinner: 1 to 2 chicken breasts, 1 sweet potato, sugarsnap peas
or raw corn
Evening snack: 1 chicken breast
That’s a lot of chicken!
This
Weekend on The Pageant Calendar:
The Road to
Hollywood heads north on the turnpike to take in all the action in
Orlando Sunday’s first ever Miss Citrus Teen USA Pageant. Seems not
all the world is in Jacksonville for the Super Bowl as the prettiest
teenagers in the Sunshine State will be in Orlando. See everyone on
Sunday!
If you know of any Miss Florida USA alumni in the news please drop us an email to feature them in future articles. Email all info to info@missfloridausa.com! Until next week here to good pageantry!
