Miss South Florida USA Recap

Miss Coral Springs Teen USA 2005 Shantavia Davis

with newly crowned Lia Anter.

This past Saturday afternoon saw a great start to the Miami pageant circuit, as Miss South Florida USA was quite the success! The location was right on Biscayne Bay in the heart of Coconut Grove and provided a gorgeous backdrop. The theater was first rate and the competition was very tough. It was also great seeing several members of our southern Miss Florida USA family. Here’s the recap of the evening.

Visiting titleholders included our very own Miss Florida Teen USA 2005 Victoria Ratliff who looked absolutely fantastic as she assisted in the evenings crowning. Ms. Ratliff had just completed her fashion photo shoot with sponsor Bob Lasky on Thursday and the results looked fantastic! They will definitely be posted in the next few weeks. Then on Friday she videotaped segments for the Miss Florida USA 2006 Broadcast and a special segment for the Miss Emerald Coast USA broadcast this March.

Miss Florida USA 2003 Carrie Mewha was in attendance and looked fantastic. Lindsay Shockey, Miss Hollywood USA 2006 was also there to help in the evening’s festivities. She was so happy to share with us the fact that she has been a very active Miss Hollywood USA. The Hollywood Jaycees have her making appearances in and around our host city. It was also great seeing Miss Coral Springs Teen USA 2005 Shantavia Davis who says she excited about the preliminary season and winning her way back to state!

Several alumni were in attendance as Elizabeth Bell (FTUSA 04) was in attendance with her mother. Ms. Bell is a senior at nearby Lourdes Academy and is anxiously awaiting her college acceptance letters! Also alumnus Ivis Guerra (FLUSA T15 ’97) was a volunteer for the evening helping out good friend and pageant director Daphne Angulo (FLUSA ’92). Ms. Guerra looks great and is the International Business Development Representative for The Baptist Health System of Miami. I would be remiss to also congratulate our new Miss South Florida USA Lia Anter on winning the title. This was truly a great pageant evening on Biscayne Bay!

Miss Florida USA attends Palm Beach Society Luncheon:

Mingling during morning social hour in Palm Beach!

Our Miss Florida USA 2005 Melissa Witek was a guest of honor at the 'Hearing Ovarian Cancer's Whisper' luncheon at The Breakers in Palm Beach. It was quite the spectacular afternoon as Ms. Witek lunched with the premier women of society in our state. The luncheon featured guest speaker Marilu Henner of “Taxi” fame as well as Broadway. Of course we brought our camera so enjoy!
