Kudos & Did You Knows:

Kudos goes out to Pageant Director Linda Watts on her Miss Hometown Pageant this past weekend in Orlando. This is a great opportunity for those to young to compete yet for Miss Florida Teen USA but want to start in the pageant game! We also saw lots of alumni competing in the older categories. Keep up the good work…..Kudos also to overall talent winner Hayley Hawkinberry as Miss Florida Teen USA is the sponsor of her award!…..Kudos also go to pageant director Charles Lee on a well presented pageant this past weekend. Miss Seminole County USA was well run and precise! Not to mention a lot of fun for the delegates and attendees! Can’t wait for Miss First Coast USA in St. Augustine.

Challenged Cheerleaders in Need!

Did you know that Heather Mowrey (FTUSA ’05 2nd r/u) volunteers as a cheerleading coach for challenged teenagers in Ft. Meyers? She wrote me the other day with this appeal that had me hitting my checkbook and thought others might help also!

"Hi guys (Miss Florida USA Family)! The cheerleader team has 14 girls and Special Olympics covers most of the cost for such things like hotel fees, but we are looking for sponsors for the girls (and guys) uniforms!! The cost for the uniforms is $1500 for the team. We already have one sponsor that contributed $500, and the uniform company told us that as long as we get close to the $1500 they would cover the rest. Soooo, I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in helping us out! If so please make out the check to SouthWest Florida Allstars (tax deductible 501!) and thank you for helping these amazing young people."
