Miss Tampa USA & Teen USA

The Road to Hollywood began its tripleheader weekend with the first stop of our I-4 Spring Break Pageant Tour as we present the eleventh annual Miss Tampa USA & Teen USA Pageants. Titles in the Miss USA & Miss Teen USA divisions were up for grabs as representatives for the city of Tampa at our State Championships of Pageantry were to be awarded. Tampa is one of the original six preliminary pageants in our state. Saturday’s competition featured four delegates competing for the Miss Teen USA titles and seven delegates in the Miss USA division.

Hosted by the historic Italian Club of Tampa in their Grand Theater this beautiful handmade hall was built in 1896 in Downtown Tampa’s Ybor City. The delegates opened the pageant with self introductions as the Teen USA contestants were followed by The Miss USA contestants and then the competition started immediately with onstage introductions. After introductions it was time to meet the hostesses for the evening Miss Tampa USA 2012 Collins Medlin and Miss Tampa Bay USA 2013 Tiffany Raia as they provided insight in the competitions from the podium.

Next was the swimsuit preliminary competition. The delegates were presented in one or two-piece suits of their own choosing. Then it was everyone’s favorite competition, Evening Gowns. It was fashion on parade as the gowns in the pageant were fierce! Once the competition was completed it was time to announce the results. But first the Photogenic Award went to Amanda Gray while the Amity Award was presented to Datiana Gay as they both now are qualified for Miss Florida USA 2013.

Then it was time to bring the Teen USA delegates center stage to present the awards as voted on by the judges:

The 11^th Miss Tampa USA (2013) is Ashley Day!

Congratulations to Miss Pupillo, Ms. Gaybor and Ms. Day as they are headed to Hollywood! Kudos to our volunteer staff and our friends at The Italian Club on another great pageant! The Road to Hollywood now heads east on I-4 and to Volusia County as our next stop on tour is the eleventh edition of Miss Daytona Beach USA and Teen USA Pageants. The Road to Hollywood never stops in The Sunshine State so look for photos and video to follow!

Miss Daytona Beach USA 2011

The Road to Hollywood completed a tripleheader weekend as we ventured west on our I-4 Spring Break Pageant Tour this Sunday to Volusia County for the eleventh anniversary of Miss Daytona Beach USA + Teen USA Pageants. The beautiful Museum of Arts and Sciences Root Auditorium hosted the nine delegates competing for the two titles. Hosted by Miss Deland USA 2013 Lauren Eschbach along with Miss Daytona Beach Teen USA 2012 Ashley Conley along with Miss Florida Teen USA 2012 Sydney Martinez and Miss Volusia County Teen USA 2012 Annie McFarland along with Interview help from Miss Lake Eola USA 2013 Darling Cruz.

Before a large and boisterous crowd the pageant preceded with the traditional onstage interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Onstage interviews allowed the judges and audience to see their ability to dance on the feet. With the competition complete it was time to honor Miss Conley and Miss McFarland who severed admirably during their reigns.

Before the results were announced it was time for the best of pageant awards which qualify the delegates for the state pageant. Up first was Miss Amity and that went to Tiffany Neal while Miss Photogenic was presented to Amina Lowrey.

And the results were read in this order with the Teen USA competition up first:

Congratulations on another great weekend of pageantry for our Central Florida USA Family as we always enjoy our annual stop in Daytona Beach. Thank you to staff of The Museum of Arts and Sciences Daytona Beach and my hard working volunteers who presented another great opportunity for the regions young women. Also congratulations to Ms. Fritto, Ms. Chambers and Miss Walker as they make up Team Daytona USA for a fun year and passage to state. Up next is a trip across I-10 to Pensacola and Ft. Walton Beach for our Panhandle Tour next weekend while we also have stops in Lake Okeechobee and Palm Beach as we continue to add to the Class of 2013.

We return to the beautiful surroundings of Pensacola High School Performing Arts Center for the traditional titles of Miss Pensacola USA and Teen USA. This is the final weekend of pageantry for the 2013 Season in the North Florida region and is the first of our four pageant weekend.

WHY: Our second annual visit to Moore Haven celebrates the young women of Lake Okeechobee as Pageant Director Amy Palladino and her team of volunteers present another fun evening of pageantry. Last year’s event had a very large and vocal audience cheering on the delegates and expect the same to take place this Saturday evening. This is our second of two stops this season in the Sugar capital of the world.
