With only three weeks left in May we are nearing the end of Miss Florida USA qualifiers. Look for us on the highways of South Florida as we will be at all three pageants! MISS FL USA NEWS ALL THE PAGEANT NEWS THAT FITS! » NEXT WEEK – EXPO ALFRESCO & TOO HOT FOR FASHION In a scheduling stroke of genius we have two of the largest Hollywood events happening back to back! Next Wednesday we have the taste of Hollywood event that will have Melissa and several delegates eating, playing games and mingling in front of the cameras. It’s always a hot but beautiful evening as we sample the best of culinary Hollywood. This will allow the delegates to prepare for our “Dinning Out Hollywood” pageant week tour.   Then on Thursday we show our charity side as we raise monies for the homeless assistance project in our hometown call Broward Outreach. Look for Hollywood’s police chief, city manager and city commissioners all on stage wearing the latest fashions along with our very own Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA delegates. Last year over $45,000.00 was raised for the shelters and schools that educate our regions homeless. The Broward Outreach Centers goal is to transform the homeless back to working and functioning member of our community. Miss Florida USA always is a good neighbor!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PRELIMINARY PAGEANT UPDATES! » PRELIMINARY PAGEANT NEWS: Miss Boca Raton USA & Miss Boca Raton Teen USA / May 7, 2005     Ms. Browne, Ms. Shannon and Ms. Brooks     The Road to Miss Florida USA visited Southern Palm Beach for the first time in three-year hiatus as the Miss Boca Raton USA Pageants took place Saturday Night at The Dorthy F. Schmidt Center for the Performing and Visual Arts on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. Produced by Jeanne and Norman Brander, six Miss USA and six Miss Teen USA delegates competed for the two tiaras and the chance to represent Boca Raton at both Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA.    The evening started with the introductions the two hostesses of the evening, Kristen Berset, Miss Florida USA 2004 and Shenna Monnin, Miss Manatee County 2006. Then it was the contestants introducing themselves to the audience and the judges who joined them onstage for the evening. The Teen USA delegates hit the runway first as the crowd was very appreciative. Up next the Miss USA delegates greeted the judges and audience signaling the pageant was underway. The Miss Boca Raton USA Judges included acting coach and the owner of Act True (an official sponsor of Miss Florida USA) Marc Durso; beauty and fashion professional Gina Cerbone; Sony Music Recording artist/songwriter Cristian Zalles, language art teacher/cheerleading coach at Pine Crest School Joy Imperato and construction and real estate developer Ana Waldman.   Miss Robbins presents her swimwear to the judges who were onstage  during the evening.   After the judges were announced it was back to the pageant. The swimsuit competition was first as the delegates wore one or two-piece suits of there own choosing. After swimwear it was time for onstage questions and then it was everybody’s favorite the evening gown competition. First the teen delegates and then the miss delegates all had the chance to show off their personal fashion sense. Then the delegates returned onstage for one last chance to make an impression on the judges with an onstage interview segment to end the competition.      The entire cast at the opening of the evening     Now all was left was to announce the special prizes and the results for the Miss Boca Raton Teen USA pageant. Once again these winners are qualified for state: The Peoples Choice Award winner is Barbara Cosme; Miss Photogenic is Kristen Sonntag while The Miss Amity Award went to Juliza Monterroso.   Then the final announcements for Miss Boca Raton Teen USA: 2nd Runner Up is Philomena Andress. 1st Runner Up is Lillyann Robbins. The New Miss Boca Raton Teen USA is Barbara Cosme!     Miss Robbins, Miss Cosme and Miss Andress       After the crowning moments it was time for the miss contestants to take the stage. First up were the special awards for the evening that will qualify the winners for state. The Peoples Choice Award winner is Ashley Shannon; Miss Photogenic is also Ashley Shannon while The Miss Amity Award went to Linda Hill.   It’s time to announce the results for Miss Boca Raton USA: 2nd Runner Up is Megan Brooks.  1st Runner Up is Jacqueline Browne. Also congratulations go to the Miss Boca Raton volunteers and The Brander family along with pageant director Linda Sims for an outstanding pageant! Up next on The Road To Hollywood we hit the highway for three pageants next week, Miss Miami USA, Miss Treasure Coast USA and The Marco Island USA Super Pageant all take place next Saturday and Sunday. The states largest city crowns its representative to the state pageants as Around Florida USA produces the Magic City title for the third year. After the interviews the contestants can enjoy some personal time with friends and family on the beautiful beaches of sunny Marco Island.
