PRELIMINARY PAGEANT NEWS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

» Miss Palm Beach County USA & Miss Palm Beach County Teen USA - March 26, 2005

The Road to Miss Florida USA visited Northern Palm Beach for the first time ever as the inaugural Miss Palm Beach County USA Pageants took place Saturday Night at The Dwyer High School Auditorium. Produced by PBC Pageants, four Miss USA and seven Miss Teen USA delegates competed for the two tiaras and the chance to represent this fast growing region at both Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA.

The delegates competing for Miss Palm Beach County USA 2006.

The evening started with pageant director Linda DiGiacomo introducing the hostess of the evening, Lia Anter Miss South Florida USA 2006. Then it was the contestants performing an energy production number to the 60’s hit “Venus”. Then it was introductions in their opening outfits. The Teen USA delegates hit the runway first as the crowd was very appreciative. Up next the Miss USA delegates greeted the judges and audience signaling the pageant was underway. It was clear that this was going to be a great pageant evening.

Miss South Florida USA 2006 and the evenings hostess.

The judges responsible for selecting the evening’s winner were then introduced. The Miss Palm Beach County USA Judges included; Pageant director Elizabeth Warakasa; Psychologist & Personal Coach Dr. Wanda Berthea; Skin Care consultant Barbara Vela; Former Mrs. Florida Lee Ann Little: Palm Beach Kennel Club Director of Publicity Theresa Hume: Boy Scout Director Richard Gallant and Connecticut School of Broadcasting instructor Marc Storm.

After the judges were announced it was back to the pageant. The swimsuit competition was first as the delegates wore one or two-piece suits of there own choosing. After swimwear it was time for onstage questions and then it was everybody’s favorite the evening gown competition. First the teen delegates and then the miss delegates all had the chance to show off their personal fashion sense.

The delegates read from cue cards about the wonderful county that is Palm Beach!

Then the delegates returned onstage for one last chance to make an impression on the judges with their abilities to read commercials about Palm Beach on customized cue cards. Each delegate moved down stage and then read off of professional cards a :30 commercial about the host region. This was a very unique way of showing each ladies ability to think on their feet as well as show personality.

Now all was left was to announce the special prizes and the results for the Miss Palm Beach County USA pageant. Once again these winners are qualified for state: Miss Fitness is Liz Tutela; Miss Photogenic is Catherine Carter while The Amity Award went to Daniela Gallo.

Then the final announcements began in The Teen USA Division:

2nd Runner Up is Amy Hooker.

1st Runner Up is Catherine Carter.

The New Miss Palm Beach County Teen USA is Amber Garrod!

The new Miss Palm Beach County Teen USA is crowned!

After the crowning moments it was time for the miss contestants to take the stage. It’s time to announce the results for Miss Palm Beach County USA:

2nd Runner Up is Sarabel Barriero.

1st Runner Up is Daniele Gallo.

The New Miss Palm Beach County USA is Shilah Goodwin!

Shilah Goodwin is named the first Miss Palm Beach County USA!

Congratulations to Miss Goodwin and Miss Garrod as they represent Palm Beach County at state. Also congratulations go to PBC Pageants and The Di Giacomo family for an outstanding pageant! Up next on The Road To Hollywood we stay in Palm Beach County and head west to Wellington for the Miss Gold Coast USA Pageants next week!
