» Miss Pembroke Pines USA Update -New News is Good News!

And here’s the News! Halavin Productions, Inc. is proud to announce a new sponsor; Fierté Cosmetics and Beauty Supplies have come aboard our team and it is providing us with a new product line in cosmetics and beauty supplies. Location Change for Miss Pembroke Pines USA & Teen USA

A last minute glitch has required us to move the pageant from the Southwest Senior Focal Center to a new location. Due to previously scheduled events within the cities many facilities we will need to fall back on our alternate location. The pageant will be held in the Parish Hall of Our Lady Queen Of Martyrs Church and School located at 3731 S.W. 11th Court, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312. Registration will start at 8: am the pageant will start at 4pm with the dinner show having to be canceled.

Pageant Tickets will be $25 prior to the March 4th and $30 at the door. Any of the title holders and producers who which want to attend need to RSVP so we can have reserved tickets & seating for you at the door. » MISS CARNAVAL MIAMI

The Road to Hollywood paid a visit to The Miami Airport Hilton for a Miami Tradition, Miss Carnaval. The 25^th edition saw 27 delegates compete for the title Wednesday night. Produced by The Little Havana Kiwanis this traditional Miss Florida USA qualifier (but unofficial preliminary) sees the evening’s winner compete in the Miss Florida USA 2008 Pageant. The sold out audience greeted our co-host’s for the evening Alicia Faccio and Miss Carnaval USA 2007 Nathalie Pozo.

The evening started with the delegates in jeans and white shirt provided by designer Marianne designed especially for the delegates as they walked the runway. Then a quick wardrobe change had the delegates in multi-colored tropical outfits for contestant’s introductions. Then it was Evening Gowns as the final competition. This was factored into the previous evenings Personality Interviews as the scores combined for the top 10.

Ms. Faccio and Ms. Pozo then announced the evenings finalists in no random order, all of whom qualify for Miss Florida USA; Ashley Curcio; Barbara Gomez; Elizabeth Maus; Odenny Jean; Greta Aguliera; Maricarmen Cabrera; Yaisell Hernandez; Cristie Ann Quesada; Laura Prada; Carolina De Francisco and Laura Prada.

The judges final decision hinged on the delegates responses in Spanish to Aliccia Faccio questions. After a very boisterous interview session the judges had made their decisions. But before the results were announced it was time for Nathalie Pozo to walk for the final time as Miss Carnavale 2005 and transitions into Miss Carnavale USA 2007.

Ms. Faccio first announced the Pageant Spirit Award for community service and congeniality. The award went to Ashley Curcio who qualified for state with the prestigious award. Then the final announcements were made:

Congratulations to Ms. De Francisco as she will have a wonderful year reigning over Carnaval Miami and then we will see her represent Carnaval Miami at state in competition year 2008. Congratulations go to The Little Havana Kiwanis for an outstanding pageant! Up next on The Road To Hollywood is a stop in the Capital City as we will see you in Tallahassee this weekend!

» MISS JACKSONVILLE USA & TEEN USA RESULTS:

The Road To Hollywood visited Duval County as the sixth annual Miss Jacksonville USA & Miss Jacksonville Teen USA Pageants took place at the North Florida University Performing Arts Center Saturday afternoon. Hosted by Miss Jacksonville USA 2006 Sherri Leaf and Miss Jacksonville Teen USA 2006 Chelsea Rhoden the enthusiastic crowd greeted the nine delegates competing for the two titles.

The afternoon started with self-introductions by the five Miss Jacksonville Teen USA delegates followed by the four Miss Jacksonville USA delegates. The ladies then went right into the competition as on-stage questions were the first judged segment. With questions coming from their biography cards Ms. Leaf and Miss Rhoden traded off interviewing the delegates.

After interviews the traditional competitions onstage continued the afternoon in one or two-piece Swimwear then Evening Gowns of the delegates choosing completed the pageant. The judges for the afternoon were: Hank Battar, Retired Navy Officer; Melissa Amkraut, Concert Violinist; Carmelitta Camerita, Model and Miss Florida USA Alumni; Donna Lateler, Talent Agency Owner and Robert Bitner, Pianist.

After the judges introductions Miss Jacksonville Teen USA Chelsea Rhoden, who is quite the singer, entertained the audience with two performances while the judges selected this years titleholders. Then it was time for emotional farewells from both Miss Rhoden and Ms. Leaf as pageant tradition call for the final walks of the reigning titleholders. Before the announcements were presented it was time to hand out some special awards, all of which qualify the winners towards their respective state competitions.

What a great pageant it was as Around Florida USA and Executive Director Don Steer along with his staff of hard working volunteers ran an exceptional pageant!
