The Class of 2010!

 

 

The soundstages of The Hollywood Production Center were packed with pageant contestants, as the eighth annual Miss Florida Teen USA Seminar Day was a big success! The day was all about getting to know pageantry the Miss Florida Teen USA way and our aspiring delegates were certainly paying attention. Up first was a meet and greet where the attendees and their families got to know one another. It was great to see the families and pageant directors there to support their young ladies. Then it was off to the television soundstages for a day of pageantry!

 

First up were self-introductions throughout the audience as each delegate stepped up to the microphone to let everyone know a little more about them.  Then it was time to make a group vote as this year the pageant is returning to its traditional top fifteen semifinalists thanks to a unanimous vote of the delegates. After the opening announcements it was time to unveil the competition weekend schedule to the attendees. This was lead by our Pageant Executive Producer Grant Gravitt, Jr. and Assistant Pageant Director Susset Cabrera.

Then it was time for a seminar break! This allowed more time for the young ladies and their families to make new friends and ask questions for the pageant staff. This is going to be such a fun year as the halls were filled with giggles and laughter.

 

Then it was back to business as we presented our first ever split seminar session format with two seminar going on simultaneously.  Our guest speakers included the PageantReady! Team of Jules Meyer, LauRen Merloa and Brooke Eneas; along with Robin Flemming, proprietor of our new official gown sponsor La Case Hermosa of Wellington. Between the speeches were prize giveaways of DVD’s from The PageantDiva collection. They also received some pretty cool “swag bags” courtesy of afternoon sponsors.

Then the group gathered back on the soundstages for a final session featuring our Miss Florida Teen USA 2009 mother daughter team of Claire and Kayla Collier. Mrs. Collier spoke of her year as the mother of Miss Florida Teen USA while Miss Collier gave a first person account of her reign. Then the seminar came to a close with one last group photograph for the afternoon. The seminar day was also sponsored by Tel-Air Interests and The Hollywood Production Center. A good time was had by all but it was early to bed as Sunday had a 6:45am call!
